Steven DeCaro, PA

Physician Assistant to: David Auerbach, MD

Steven DeCaro was born and raised in Burbank, California. He earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from California State University, Northridge, and later completed his Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Dominican University of California in San Rafael.

His passion for orthopedic surgery was sparked while working as an EMT in Los Angeles, where he treated patients with musculoskeletal injuries. This interest deepened through his experiences recovering from dirt bike and snowboarding injuries, and it was solidified during an orthopedic surgery rotation in PA school.

Steven provides physician assistant services to Dr. David Auerbach at Southern California Orthopedic Institute. He sees patients for various musculoskeletal conditions, performs physical exams, orders and interprets imaging and labs, diagnoses conditions, formulates treatment plans, prescribes medications, and administers therapeutic injections for the shoulder, elbow, and hand.

Steven enjoys spending time with his family, water sports, mountain biking, and traveling outside of work.
